Why do forums keep sayin bmw cost 250$ to get an oil change? Do independent mechanics really cost this much $?

I want to get an 08 BMW 3 series.. but this is really expensive?! After how many miles do you have to get your oil change? every 15000 I've seen before? Is an Infinity G37 the same amount to maintain? I know people always say the maintenance is expensive

Honestly I have heard newer luxury cars have oil change intervals of 5k-20k miles. A lot of these vehicles aren't even equipped with dipsticks. This is so you HAVE to take the cars to the dealer to get serviced. The oil change intervals vary, but the
